This colorway has a matte red finish, copper imprint, copper ferrule, and light gray eraser. It features a “SOFT” pencilgraphite indicator stamp on the barrel. Not to be confused with Blackwing's red core pencils , this is a graphite pencil with a red barrel. This pencil is ideal for musicians, woodworkers, and anyone who prefers a soft, dark graphite line. The Blackwing Matte is the softest of the four core Blackwing models.
The Blackwing Matte has the same satisfying graphite formulation as the classic, since renamed, “Palomino Blackwing.”
