The reservoir parts simplify the corresponding part of fountain pen and improve the washability. When writing with hocoro dip pen with reservoir attached, it retains ink and is particularly useful for nibs with thick line width which has high ink consumption. When changing the colour, you can easily wash it just by lightly flushing with water.

With hocoro pen barrel and nib (sold separately), it is a pen that makes it easier to use bottle ink.  You can easily change the ink colour just by lightly washing the pen tip with water. As you can change ink colour without hassles, you can enjoy a lot of fun with different ink colours.
